Description

Lemme talk about this. Sit back and grab some popcorn, cuz it's story time!!!

I went through HELL AND BACK for this thing!!

Because I was making him, and Mistake number one was starting with his head. Who does that???!!!
Mistake number two was not worrying about how he was gonna be supported on his own four legs. So even while I was making it, it was falling over and leaning and doing all kinds of fun stuff that was really irritating me. But I pulled a dumb move, so I couldn't blame the clay or the figure or ANYONE or anything else but myself.

But, if it's not rude or bold to say, he looked SPECTACULAR!!! Absolutely PERFECT. and I thought, "Well, let's brace him up with some wire and stick him in the oven!!"
Mistake number 3 was not supporting him enough with wire.
ANd i baked him for 45 minutes. Stuck him in the oven, set the timer, and went off and did my own thing.
And eventually he crossed my mind again, "oh. Better go check on him."
So i look, and there's 13 minutes left. and I'm like, "YYAASS he's almost done!!"

I open the oven door.

And his face is leaning against the pan and his arms are almost at his legs (both of them) and his legs were smashed together and stuff.

So i FREAKED THE FREAK OUT
I took him out of the oven and started scooping him up trying to see if maybe it hadn't hardened COMPLETELY and i can still sorta mold it.

NOPE. It just broke into pieces. Arms over here, both legs over there, paws gone, horns, even his JAW fell off.

And I personally cannot recall a time that I ever cried THAT hard in THAT short of an amount of time. I. SSSOOBBBBEEDD!!

And then, I thought, "Jerk!! You are just about the biggest failure in the history of ever. If you had JUST DID THAT ONE THING DIFFERENT!!
And then, it occured to me. "GLUE IT BACK TOGETHER, DING DONG!!!!"

SO, i worked my ass off even FURTHER. Glueing pieces, molding new clay around the hardened clay, buying myself clay glue that hardens when it's baked, and figuring out ways to put this back together.

AND I SUCCEEDED. With a few visible corrections, where there's some glue showing or whatever.

And i think he looks pretty much as good as he did before this WHOLE thing!! :)

I thought he was certainly worth sharing.
